Mad Men Season 6 Episode 8 The Crash

Episode Name:The Crash
Air date:5/19/2013
Summary:This episode doesn’t have a summary yet

A drama about one of New York’s most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm’s most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper.

Though its audience is relatively small compared to the most popular network shows on television, AMC's Mad Men is one of the most influential programs airing today. The show is noted for its strong writing and performances, as well as its accurate depiction of America in the 1960s. The show is centered around advertising executive Don Draper and his dealings with both his family and his colleagues in the advertising industry. However, it goes much deeper than that.

The show's first season was set in the year 1960, and it introduced us to Don Draper and other notable characters such as Don's wife Betty, his boss and colleague Roger Sterling, and his new secretary Peggy Olson. Since then, the program has advanced through the decade, and it has shown the many changes happening in America from the unique perspective of its characters. Given the amazing amount of significant events that happened during the time in which the show is set, it also serves as a sort of history lesson.

The show was created by former Sopranos scribe Matthew Weiner, who writes the majority of Mad Men's episodes to this day. The writing for the program is spectacular, and it often involves some of the most realistic, yet powerful dialogue ever spoken in TV drama. This is due to Weiner's meticulous nature as well the talents of the writing staff that he has assembled. Each week, the show is able to take viewers to a familiar place while simultaneously thwarting their expectations of what might happen. Because of this, the program is discussed and debated at length on the internet and elsewhere every Monday after new episodes air. As a result, Mad Men has become a cultural phenomenon, even though its audience is quite small.

It is believed that Mad Men will run for a total of seven seasons, and that it will end up in the year 1970. If this is the case, the show will have documented the entirety of the 1960s in its own unique way. Viewers are anxious to see what the final episodes of the show will reveal and where its characters will find themselves. Since Mad Men is known for some shocking revelations, it is anybody's guess what will happen to Don Draper and company after all is said and done. Regardless of what happens, though, the show and its themes will likely be a topic of conversation in the culture for many years.
